Bulk Powder Cell Culture Media
Powder media for distributors, repackers and companies that reconstitute at scale. Pack sizes, shelf life and storage are listed on each product page. Prices, minimums and lead time are quoted per order.
Powder range in the catalogue
The catalogue lists 50 powder lines alongside 194 liquid lines. The powders fall into two groups.
- Serum-free powders for production cell lines: CHO serum-free powder media and feeds, and serum-free powders for 293, Vero, MDCK, BHK-21 and insect cells. See serum-free media.
- Classical powders: DMEM, RPMI-1640, MEM and M199, listed in 100 L packs. See classical media.
Small reagent powders in gram and milligram packs are listed under reagents. Many lines are classified animal-origin-free; the classification is shown on each product page. Each page also shows the formulation notes, pack sizes, shelf life and storage for that product.
Pack sizes and what they are for
The catalogue lists three large sizes: 10 L (11 lines), 50 L (17 lines) and 100 L (6 lines). In total 34 lines are listed in 10 L to 100 L packs, most of them CHO and classical powders.
- 10 L packs suit resellers who stock powder for laboratory customers, and buyers running pilot volumes.
- 50 L packs suit repackers and buyers who reconstitute routinely for a production cell line.
- 100 L packs suit bulk buyers of classical media and CHO media who prepare larger batches.
Pack size is the size shown on the product page. We do not convert pack volumes into weights here; ask for the net weight and reconstitution instructions in your inquiry and we confirm them in the quotation. Case quantities are confirmed in the quotation.
Shelf life and storage
Shelf life and storage are stated per product on each product page. Across the catalogue, listed shelf life is mostly 12 or 24 months. Powder lines are mostly 24 months, and some are listed at 36 or 48 months. Storage for most lines is 2-8 C, protected from light. Check the product page for the exact value before you plan stock, because the figure varies by product. For a distributor, the longer dating of powder makes it easier to hold inventory and to serve customers who order at irregular intervals. If your customers need the same lot over a longer period, lot reservation can be requested at quotation.
What bulk buyers should send us
Powder quotations depend on volume and configuration, so the more complete the request, the faster the reply. Please send:
- Products, with the pack size from the product page, for example CHO serum-free powder in 50 L packs or DMEM powder in 100 L packs.
- Volume per quarter, or the size of the first order.
- Number of packs per shipment and the preferred pack size.
- Repeat cadence: one-off, quarterly or scheduled.
- Destination country and delivery point, plus any Incoterms preference.
- Documents required.
- Own-label or lot-reservation needs, if any.
We reply by email, within one business day, with a written quotation stating unit prices at that volume, pack configuration, documents and lead time.
Why powder
Powder is the usual format for buyers who prepare medium at scale. In general, powder weighs less to ship than the same volume of ready-made liquid and tends to carry a longer listed shelf life, which helps when stock moves slowly or orders are irregular. The buyer reconstitutes with water and filters according to the product instructions. For a distributor, powder packs also take less cold-chain space than cases of liquid. Where a product is listed in both formats, the choice is yours; the product page shows which pack sizes exist in each format. If you are not sure which format fits your customers, tell us how the medium will be used and we will quote both where available.
